Have a look at the SLO Tribune’s story today, Tue 7/29, about restoring the Central Coast fishery. It’s about sustainability, a very intelligent approach to the fishery, and the planet in general. Might be time to get onboard.

The type of fishing in the SLO Tribune’s story is
drag/trawl totally different from the salmon fishery.
Different boats-bigger-different gear- nets vs. hooks.

Actually, rather than the salmon fishermen get on board the TNC groundfish movement, TNC is on board with our salmon fishermen … for years now they’ve been buying up land adjacent to the Sacramento River, allowing the river to return to a more natural path, to the benefit of California’s salmon and its salmon fishermen. Yes, it’s about sustainability, and its also about using limited resources, like water, intelligently, so that commercial fishermen may harvest what should be a renewable resource, for the benefit all Californians. “Good planets are hard to find.”
